In Australia, Odoo Enterprise lists at A$43 per user per month on the Standard plan and A$80 per user per month on the Custom plan, billed yearly and excluding GST. That is the list price at the time of writing (October 2026), and Odoo often runs promotional discounts. New customers also get a discount for the first 12 months, so your second-year licence bill will usually be higher than your first. On top of the licence you need to budget for implementation, possibly Odoo.sh hosting, and small usage-based credits.
Here is how each piece works, with worked examples for 10, 25 and 50 users. All prices exclude GST.
The three Odoo plans
| Plan | AUD list price (yearly billing) | Hosting | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| One App Free | A$0 | Odoo Online | One app only, unlimited users |
| Standard | A$43 / user / month | Odoo Online only | Businesses happy with standard Odoo, one company |
| Custom | A$80 / user / month | Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise | Multi-company, Studio, external API, custom code |
List prices at the time of writing (October 2026); check odoo.com/pricing for the current figure. Monthly billing costs more than yearly.
According to Odoo, the Standard and Custom plans include every app, plus support, hosting on Odoo Online, maintenance and version upgrades. The Custom plan adds Studio, multi-company, the external API and the option to host on Odoo.sh or your own servers. If you install Studio or add a second company, Odoo moves you to Custom automatically.
First-year discount versus renewal
Odoo’s pricing page says the first-year discount is valid for 12 months and only for the users in your initial order. Users added later are charged at the normal price. Australian partners report the discount at around 20% off list, which would put Standard at about A$34.40 and Custom at about A$64 per user per month in year one.
After 12 months the discount falls away and your price moves towards list. The Enterprise Subscription Agreement also lets Odoo raise a below-list price by up to 7% per year at renewal. How the two interact on your renewal depends on your contract, so read the renewal quote carefully. To be safe, budget on list price from year two.
The September 2026 price rise
In September 2026 Odoo raised Custom plan prices across many currencies. Australian partner and tracker sources report that the Custom list price moved from about A$65 to the current A$80 in late September, an increase of roughly 23%. The Standard plan was reported as unchanged.
For existing customers, the change usually lands at renewal rather than mid-term. If you are on Custom and your renewal is coming up, ask your partner or Odoo for the renewal quote early.
Light users and employee records
Odoo now offers a Light User licence. Odoo lists it at US$8.90 per user per month, and Australian partners report a local price of around A$12.90. Light users get self-service access, such as their own time off, expenses, appraisals, attendance and planning, plus some operational roles like barcode scanning in the warehouse, shop floor and point of sale. Odoo’s pricing page says to book a meeting with an Odoo advisor to get it.
There is a catch. Under Odoo’s current definition, any active employee record that is not linked to an active user account counts as a light user. Many businesses keep records for every staff member in the Employees app without giving them logins. Those records may now be billable. Before upgrading to Odoo 20 or signing a new agreement, check how the terms apply to you, count your active employee records and archive any that are no longer needed.
Hosting: Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise
- Odoo Online is included in the subscription, with storage up to 100 GB. You cannot install custom modules.
- Odoo.sh is Odoo’s platform for databases with custom code. It is charged separately, and Odoo publishes prices in US dollars and euros only. On yearly billing, workers start at US$57.60 per month, storage is about US$0.20 per GB per month, and staging environments are about US$14.40 each. A small project with two workers, 20 GB and one staging branch comes to roughly US$135 a month, or very roughly A$2,500 a year depending on the exchange rate.
- On-premise has no Odoo hosting fee, but you pay for your own servers, backups, security and someone to run them.
Implementation and support
Odoo’s pricing page is clear that implementation is not included. For most Australian businesses implementation is a larger first-year cost than the licence. What drives it:
| Project size | Typical scope |
|---|---|
| Small | 5–15 users, a few core apps, little custom code |
| Medium | 15–50 users, inventory or manufacturing, a few integrations |
| Large | 50+ users, multi-company, complex integrations |
Every project is different, so we scope each one before putting a number on it. If you are moving off SAP, our indicative bands for that kind of project are in What it really costs to leave SAP for Odoo.
After go-live, budget for ongoing partner support for configuration changes, new reports and training. Odoo’s own support covers bugs in standard software. It does not cover maintenance of custom code, which needs either a maintenance agreement with Odoo or your partner.
In-app purchase credits
Some features run on Odoo’s servers and are paid per use with credits. Examples include SMS, contact auto-complete, lead generation and AI scanning of vendor bills and expenses. Odoo sells credits in packs, and usage depends on the service (for SMS, on message length and destination). For most businesses this is a small line, but high-volume SMS or bill scanning can add up.
Worked example: 10, 25 and 50 users
Licence only, yearly billing, excl. GST, at list price. The year-one columns are an illustration that assumes the roughly 20% first-year discount partners report applies to all users in the initial order.
| Users | Standard year 1 | Standard year 2 | Custom year 1 | Custom year 2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | A$4,128 | A$5,160 | A$7,680 | A$9,600 |
| 25 | A$10,320 | A$12,900 | A$19,200 | A$24,000 |
| 50 | A$20,640 | A$25,800 | A$38,400 | A$48,000 |
Add to that, where relevant:
- light users for staff who only need self-service, at a reported price of about A$155 each a year;
- Odoo.sh hosting if you have custom modules (very roughly A$2,500 a year for a small setup, more for larger ones);
- implementation, usually the largest first-year item;
- IAP credits;
- the 25% legacy fee if you fall more than three versions behind. See Odoo version support and the legacy fee.
A 25-user business on Custom with Odoo.sh and a medium-sized implementation should expect a first-year total well above the licence figure, and a steady state of roughly the licence, hosting and modest partner support from year two. Upgrades are part of that steady state too; see How much does an Odoo upgrade cost?.
When Community edition makes sense
Odoo Community is free and open source. It can be a sensible choice when:
- you have in-house developers who can host, secure and maintain it;
- you need only the apps Community includes, such as basic sales, purchasing, inventory and invoicing;
- you accept that there is no Odoo support contract and no included upgrade service.
It is a poor fit if you need full Accounting with Australian localisation features, Studio, or Enterprise apps like Helpdesk and advanced manufacturing. Upgrades on Community are entirely your responsibility, and moving to Enterprise later is a separate project. For many small businesses, the Standard plan on Odoo Online ends up cheaper once you count the time Community takes to run.
